Glossary

Most of this is plain English, but a few words carry a specific meaning inside mozo. This page is the reference for all of them.

Supplier

The restaurant, bar, or venue using mozo. Everything else, tables, menu, staff, belongs to exactly one supplier.

Employee

A staff member with a login to the restaurant’s dashboard. Employees are either managers or regular staff; managers can edit the menu, floor layout, and settings, regular staff can’t. See Employees.

Section

A named area of the restaurant’s floor, a dining room, a patio, a bar area. Every table belongs to a section. See Sections & tables.

Table

A single physical table, with its own QR code. Tables live inside a section and can be arranged on a floor-plan layout.

Tab

The shared bill for everyone sitting at one table during one visit, called a “list” internally. A tab is active while guests are ordering and closes once staff settle it. Multiple guests can share one tab. See Sharing a tab.

Order

One placed order within a tab. A table of four might place several orders over the course of a meal, each one shows up as its own order, all counted against the same tab.

Category

A group of menu items, starters, mains, drinks, however a restaurant wants to organize its menu. Categories can be set to appear only during certain hours or on certain days. See Categories.

A single menu item within a category. See Products.

An option on a product, a size, a temperature, a side, each with its own price adjustment. See Variants.

Destination

Which station, kitchen, bar, wherever a restaurant has set up, an order for a given product should be routed to. See Destinations.
