Products

A product is a single item on your menu, a dish, a drink, anything a guest can order. Every product lives inside exactly one category.

Adding a product

From the Menu screen, use the add icon on the category you want the item in. A product needs at minimum a name and a price; everything else is optional.

• Name and description. Keep names short, they read better on a phone screen.
• Price. The base price before any variant adjusts it.
• Code. An internal reference code, useful if you’re cross-checking against another system, not shown to guests. Planned to also become the key for reporting exports and bulk batch-updates — not built yet.
• Image. Optional, but items with a photo are easier for guests to recognize quickly.

Active

Each product has an active toggle. Switching a product inactive removes it from what guests can order without deleting it, useful for anything temporarily out of stock. Turning it back on brings it right back, nothing needs to be re-entered.

Variants and destinations

A product can have variants underneath it, size or option choices that adjust the price, and can be routed to a destination if you’ve set those up for your restaurant. Both are configured from the same product edit screen.

Reordering products

Products within a category are reordered from the same picker used to reorder categories: open it, select the category, and drag products into the order you want. The order set here is the order guests see.

Tax rate

Optionally, assign a product to one of your restaurant’s tax rates. This is for reporting only — the price a guest sees and pays is never affected by it. The rate’s percentage backs out how much of that same price is tax rather than adding anything on top: a 19% rate on a 1.19 price means 1.00 net + 0.19 tax.

Availability

Products don’t have their own availability window, that’s set once per category and applies to everything inside it. If you need an item to appear on a different schedule than its neighbors, it needs to move to (or you create) a category with the right window. See Categories.
