Variants
A variant is an option underneath a product, a size, a temperature, a side, that a guest chooses before it’s added to their order.
What a variant is for
Rather than creating separate products for “Coffee, small” and “Coffee, large,” add one product, Coffee, and give it two variants. Guests see a single item on the menu and pick their option from there.
Adding variants to a product
From a product’s edit screen, add each variant with:
- Name, what the guest sees, “Large,” “Iced,” “Extra shot.”
- Price adjustment, added to (or subtracted from) the product’s base price. A variant doesn’t need to cost more, a smaller size can carry a negative adjustment.
- Description, optional extra detail if the name alone isn’t enough.
How guests interact with them
If a product has any variants, tapping it opens a selection screen before it’s added to the order, guests can’t skip straight past the choice. Products without variants are added directly with no extra step.
Reordering
Variants appear to guests in the order you add them from a product’s edit screen.
