Sections & tables
Every table belongs to a section, a named area of your restaurant: a dining room, a patio, a bar. Sections give you a floor-plan view of each part of your restaurant and let you organize tables the way your space is actually laid out.
Creating a section
From Sections in your dashboard, add a new one and give it a name. Each section has its own dimensions, so its layout can match the actual shape of that part of your restaurant.
Adding tables
Inside a section, switch to edit mode and add tables one at a time, or in a batch if you have several to place at once. Each table gets a number and an optional label (“Window,” “Bar,” “Patio 3”).
Arranging tables
You can drag tables into position by hand, or use the arrange tool to automatically lay them out in a grid, rows, or columns, useful for getting a section’s tables roughly placed before fine-tuning by hand. Beyond tables, you can also add text labels and decorative or zone elements to a section’s layout, useful for marking a bar counter, an entrance, or a wall.
The floor-plan view outside edit mode
Outside of editing, a section’s screen doubles as a live view of that part of your restaurant: each table shows its current occupancy and status at a glance, which tab is open, whether it needs help. Switch between sections using the tabs at the top.
Printing QR codes
Each table’s QR code can be printed straight from its section. See Printing QR codes for paper recommendations and sizing.
Removing a section
Deleting a section removes its tables along with it. Move or note down anything you need to keep before removing one.
